We Don't Ship Cleaners in Plastic

The irony of a "green" cleaner arriving in a box full of plastic bubble wrap isn't lost on us. Here's how we actually package — and why the concentrate format itself is the biggest sustainability win.

Our Packaging Commitments

Not pledges. Practices. These are things we do right now, with every order.

📦

No Single-Use Plastic Bubble Wrap — Ever

We use crinkle-cut kraft paper for cushioning. It's recyclable, compostable, and doesn't make a plastic cloud when someone opens the box.

♻️

Boxes Are ≥95% Recycled Content

Our corrugated shipping boxes are made from minimum 95% post-consumer recycled fiber. They're also fully recyclable curbside in most U.S. municipalities.

🚫

No Printed Plastic Bags or Poly Mailers

No poly mailers, no plastic void fill, no foam peanuts. Nothing that ends up in landfill because it can't be sorted at a recycling facility.

🎨

Label Inks Are Water-Based

Solvent-based inks release VOCs during printing and make labels harder to recycle. Our label printer uses water-based inks — lower toxicity, fully compliant with standard recycling streams.

🌱

Compostable Labels — Target: End of 2025

We're switching to certified compostable label stock by end of 2025. We haven't done it yet. We're saying it publicly because accountability matters.

The Numbers That Matter

One Order. Roughly 100 Bottles Never Made.

Here's the math on why concentrate format wins — before we even get to packaging.

100+

spray bottles replaced
by one concentrate

~90%

of a ready-to-use spray
is water we don’t ship

1

refillable bottle instead
of a new one each time

1

small box shipped
instead of 100 large ones

CO2 calculation based on average shipping emissions for 100 single-use 16oz spray bottles via standard ground shipping vs one 16oz concentrate bottle. Methodology available on request.

The Irony of Shipping Cleaners in Plastic

Here's something the cleaning industry doesn't talk about: most "eco-friendly" cleaning products arrive at your door in a cardboard box — surrounded by a plastic bag, wrapped in bubble wrap, with a foam insert.

Then there's the product itself: a 90% water solution, shipped across the country, in a plastic bottle that'll be recycled maybe 20% of the time.

The math is broken before the customer even opens the box.

"Concentrate format isn't just a cost savings. It's the only logical way to ship a water-based product. Why would anyone ship water across the country when the customer has water at home?"

— Italo Campilii, Founder

Shipping concentrate means: less weight, less space, less CO2, less plastic. The sustainability story starts before the packaging even begins.

What We're Still Working On

Radical transparency means saying the quiet part out loud. Here's where we're not perfect yet.

2025

Compostable Labels

Our current BOPP labels are recyclable but not compostable. We're in the testing phase with a certified compostable stock. Target: deployed on all SKUs by end of 2025.

2026

Closed-Loop Bottle Program

We want to take our bottles back. Clean them. Refill them. Send them again. We're building the infrastructure for this — it's a larger operational lift than it sounds. Target: pilot program 2026.

ONGOING

Last-Mile Carbon Offset

We're evaluating verified carbon offset programs for the remaining shipping emissions we can't eliminate. We won't buy offsets as a substitute for real reduction — only as a supplement after reduction.
